General description

This building was built in 1770 on the ruins of a 13th century castle. The architect to whom we owe this magnificent work is none other than Louis Victor (author of the Bordeaux opera), under the influence from an aristocratic family who had made their fortune in Martinique. The historical richness of this property is such that its acquisition is like acquiring a piece of French history, so it is not surprising that this construction is classified as a historic monument. This building which has survived the centuries is in the form of a main stone building and two outbuilding wings set at right angles, in the middle a magnificent paved courtyard closed by a monumental gate flanked by two iron gates. It should be noted that this ironwork is protected and classified (Registered Historic Monument). The property is built in stone on 4 levels, its particularity being 2 levels on the main facade and 4 on the rear, the whole covered with a traditional tile roof (canal), numerous openings form a well-balanced and harmonious whole.

On the ground floor: a large paved entrance, sets the tone, on its left side a first living room, a hallway with the staircase giving access to the west floor, on the right a dining room with magnificent woodwork, a kitchen located in the east wing, a monumental staircase over a hundred years old. As an extension of the entrance, the large living room (72 m²) with fireplace and parquet flooring in good condition, a terrace which lets you admire the surrounding countryside, two adjoining lounges, a boudoir, 2 shower rooms and 2 toilets. All rooms on the ground floor benefit from a ceiling height of 4 m. With access from the courtyard, a reception room positioned in the west wing.

On the first floor: divided into two parts with their own staircase, to the east 2 bedrooms each with a bathroom, a private suite located in the west wing of the building, also equipped with its own bathroom. For the West part, a large landing, which also serves as a reading space, leads to 2 good-sized suites all with bathrooms as well as a private suite located in the East wing of the building which also has its own bathroom.

On the second floor: A large bedroom appreciated by the little ones for its space of more than 30 m², the renovation of this room made it possible to leave the exposed framework and offer exterior light through bull's-eye windows, which gives a lot of charm
